Jowar Roti

Ingredients

  • Jowar flour (sorghum flour): 1 cup
  • Warm water: ½ cup (adjust as needed)
  • Salt: ¼ tsp (optional)

Preparation

In a bowl, take jowar flour and add salt if using.

Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough.

The dough should be smooth but not sticky.

Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a ball.

Place it on a flat surface, dust with dry jowar flour, and pat it into a thin roti using your hands or a rolling pin.

Heat a tawa (griddle) on medium flame.

Place the roti and cook for 30 seconds, then flip.

After another 30 seconds, flip again and gently press with a cloth or spatula until it puffs up.

Cook evenly on both sides.

Enjoy with dal, sabzi, or curd for a nutritious meal.

Servings: 4 Rotis
